Dear Chesterbrook Families:
Thank you for the love and appreciation you all showed our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week last month. We value your involvement! Last month we enjoyed being outdoors together, celebrating Mother’s Day, and getting our classrooms ready for summer. Our Summer Camp programs officially kick-off on June 11th and we’ll be sending lots of updates on our daily activities through Links 2 Home. We can’t wait to spend summer with you and your family!
With just a few more weeks left of our 2017-2018 school year, we are keeping busy right up to the start of summer camp! Please see our school calendar and stay tuned to upcoming announcements regarding what’s in store this month and throughout the summer!
We are looking forward to our annual End of Year Spring Concert and Art Show on Friday, June 1st at 4:30pm. The children have been working diligently on their performances, as well as their class art pieces throughout the year. We are also getting ready to celebrate our Kindergarten Graduates on Thursday, June 7th as they continue their educational journey into elementary school. And Dads – please join us on Friday, June 15th during drop-off time for Donuts with Dad.
With warmer days upon us, we will be spending more time outdoors. Please be sure to dress your child accordingly. It is also a good idea to check your child’s cubby to make sure their extra change of clothing is weather appropriate, and if any replenishments are needed. For safety reasons, children must wear closed-toe shoes. You are welcome to send in water shoes for your child to wear during water play activities. In addition, we are asking that parents to send in sunscreen with a signed form for us to apply as needed. Parents are requested to apply the first sunscreen application prior to arrival. The teachers will then reapply later in the day as needed. Please provide a labeled water bottle for your child to keep here throughout the week to help stay hydrated throughout the day.
Please check your child’s mailbox/folder for important information and forms being sent home. Families continuing with us through the summer will soon receive the 2018-2019 school calendar and tuition forms as applicable. As a reminder, the new tuition rates will go into effect on Monday, June 11th, so please adjust your payments accordingly. We encourage you to take a few minutes to look over the information, complete the forms, and return them to the front desk once distributed. We would like to make you aware that our 2018-2019 parent handbooks are not ready to be distributed at this time. They are in the final stages of editing and updating. As a company we will be going through a nationwide process of being accredited by the National Association of Education for Young Children (NAEYC). In order to comply with the standards of NAEYC, our handbooks needed to undergo some verbiage updating and edits. We don’t anticipate any major changes within the handbook, and as always, the first page will be dedicated to highlight any changes from the previous year, so you can easily see the updates and changes. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are very excited to move forward with accreditation and stay tuned for our updates on our school within the process of the NAEYC accreditation.
As a reminder, please return the Summer Camp forms so that we may plan our summer and staffing accordingly. Summer Activity Fees can be paid on-going and are due by Friday, June 8th, along with any outstanding Registration Fees. Summer Camp Calendars and Camp T-shirts will be distributed by Friday, June 9th for families who have returned forms. (Summer Camp Calendars are also available on the front lobby table.)
I would like to update you on several staffing changes. First, I would like to formally welcome Ms. Lisa and Ms. Beth back to Chesterbrook Academy as well as announce that Ms. Desiree will be moving back to Scranton to be closer to her family. Please join me in welcoming both of these ladies back to our school! We are also actively pursuing new teachers to join our Chesterbrook Family to support the tremendous growth of our school, so stay tuned for new additions joining our teaching teams.
