Dear Families,
Happy May!! It’s hard to believe that this school year is coming to an end and that summer camp will soon be here. We loved celebrating Week of the Young Child and Earth Day with our students and families! Our classrooms spent the week leading up to Earth Day learning about insects, plants, ecology and learning all about the importance of recycling. We also want to thank you for your participation in our annual lady bug release. We love sharing special events with our families!
This month we will be celebrating Mother’s Day with our annual Mother’s Day Tea on Friday, May 11th. We appreciate every one of our mothers and mother figures that are a part of our student’s lives. You are amazing! Another date to remember is May 28th, as we will be closed for Memorial Day.
I think that it’s safe to say that the warm weather is officially here to stay! We have provided each classroom with sunscreen so be sure to fill out the form that was provided so that we can apply sunscreen to your child each afternoon. Also, now is a great time to check that your child’s extra clothes are weather appropriate and that they still fit them. You are also welcome to bring a water bottle, labeled with their full name and date, for your child to keep in their cubby during these upcoming warm months.
As a reminder, for your child’s safety, we do not allow our students to wear open toe shoes/sandals. Please continue to send them in sneakers or any other appropriate footwear. Looking ahead at the summer, you will also need to provide water shoes that do not have open toe for “Water Play Wednesday”. We will be sending home more information on that in the next few weeks!
We look forward to another amazing month as we learn and grow alongside your children. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives!
With Friendly Greetings,
Jac-Lynn Johnson
