It’s February and love is in the air! I want to thank all the parents for welcoming me to become a part of Chesterbrook academy. We had a great first month of 2018 and are looking forward to spending the rest of the year with you and your children.
Thank you to those of you that participated in our annual parent survey, we appreciate your feedback and support! When the survey results are in, we will be examining them carefully for areas of improvement and will share our plan with you when it’s ready.
Our teachers and staff are hard at work creating meaningful learning experiences for the month of February. We are planning to another fantastic month at our school. We will be celebrating Black History Month, Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day. We will have our Valentine’s Day parties on February 14th at 3:30. Signup sheets will be available for parents to volunteer to help with the class party. If you would like to bring valentine cards for the children, the teachers can provide you with a list of names.
We are closed on Presidents Day, Monday, February 19th. During this day all of our amazing teachers will be attending a Professional Development Day. As always, please reach out with any questions, comments, suggestions, or concerns.

Ancillary
Chesterbrook Academy at Gaithersburg offers a variety of optional ancillary activities that your child can participate in throughout the school year. These programs are taught by outside instructors who specialize in the activity at hand, and are a great opportunity to allow your child to explore his/her interests without the hassle of having to drive to other locations after a long day of work. you can join in at any time.
The ancillary activities that we will offer for include:
- Shining Kids Yoga
- Zany Brainy Science
- Fun Bus
- Soccer Shot
- Dance
- Music
- Kyle Karate

- February is National Black History Month
- February 2: Ground Hog Day/ Jersey Day
- February 9: Sweetheart Dance (6:30-8:30pm)

- February 19: Closed for Professional Development Day
Valentine parties are scheduled for February 14th at 4:30pm-5:30pm
and Pr-k room 6 11:30-12:30pm
Friendly Reminders:
Please remember that the tuition is due the Friday prior to the week of service. Tuition which is not received by Tuesday at noon will automatically have a $25 late charge applied. We do have a late pick up policy that is stated on your fee schedule. Our hours of operation are 630am-630pm, if your child is picked up after that time, you must pay the late pickup fee.
Auto Payment: Save yourself time, checks, and late fees by enrolling in our Automatic Payment system (ACH). Tuition fees can be deducted directly from your checking or savings account
Vacation and Schedule Requests: Two Weeks Written Notice is required to request your free week vacation after six (6) full months of enrollment (1 vacation week per School Year), and four weeks’ notice for any schedule changes.
Referral Program: How easy is it to receive a free week’s tuition? Just refer a family and after 90 days of enrollment you earn a FREE week!
Drop-In Care for School-Age and Full Day students: If your child is enrolled in our AM/PM Care programs and you need a drop-in day, the fee is $35.00 per child, per day.
If your child is enrolled in our Full Day Preschool Program – Part Time – and you need a drop-in day, the fee is $60.00 per child, per day.
Any family that is not currently enrolled but registered for the school year and need a drop-in care, the fee is $60.00 per child, per day.
Parking Lot Requests
Please be sure NOT to park in the fire lane or in front of the building. This is a fire violation and also an obstruction to others and can be very dangerous! The same applies to our handicapped spaces. And Please remembering to sign your child in and out dally.
Nut-Free School
We would like to remind our families that we are a PEANUT AND NUT FREE SCHOOL. We have many children with nut allergies. Please make sure to talk to your child’s teachers before bringing any special treats for party’s. We ask parents kindly to try their best to not bring food from home specially juice, candy, cookie etc.
Toy Policy
Toys from home are NOT permitted at school. Please refrain from allowing your child to bring in toys from home, unless it is their scheduled show and share day. CBA is NOT responsible for toys that are brought from home that can get lost or broken.
Cubby Items – Please keep an appropriate extra change of clothes in your child’s cubby at all times including socks. Please, NO toys!
Sign in/out – Please sign in/out your children on the iPad tablet up front when dropping them off and picking them up.
