From the Principal’s Desk:
December was such a busy month with me transitioning back to our school along with the Holiday season. Thank you for all the warm welcomes as your new Principal of Chesterbrook Academy Coconut Creek. I’m ready to kick start this New Year with lots of fun, learning, and new partnerships with our whole school community; which of course includes you! I look forward to getting to know all our families and teachers while leading our school on the continued path of success.
Communication is something very important to me so please know that if you have any questions, concerns or just want to stop in, that’s what I am here for. It truly is what ensures we are all on the same page with your child’s growth and development. Starting this month, you will start noticing some changes that will improve our partnership as families and educators with the overall focus of engaging and challenging your children at each stage of development from Infant through Pre-K.
This includes our school hosting more family friendly events, starting with our Storybook in Action event on January 20th from 10:30 am- 12 noon. The purpose of this event is for it to be one of many opportunities our families have to partner with our teachers leading to continued validation that Chesterbrook Academy is the right choice for your children’s early learning experience. The teachers are planning great hands on learning activities similar to what they do each and every day with the children for you to participate in during this event. We do ask that you write your family’s name on the sheet at the front desk so that we are able to ensure we have enough supplies for all planning to attend. We welcome you to bring a friend as well!
The next event that we have in the works is a community service project as well as an opportunity for all of us to de-clutter our homes after this Holiday season! On Saturday, February 3rd, our school will be hosting a Yard Sale to benefit Ft. Lauderdale Pups Rescue. Families who wish to sell items at the Yard sale will need to reserve their spot by filling out a form and payment (more information will go home this week). This money will be a part of our donation on benefit of Chesterbrook Academy Coconut Creek to the rescue. The profit from your sales is all yours so it’s a win- win situation for all. In addition to the Yard Sale, Ms. Irene has arranged for representatives from Ft. Lauderdale Pups Rescue to be present with more information about their organization and pets available for adoption during the event. Pet supermarket will also be present with information about their dog training services with special discounts. For some added family friendly entertainment, some of our teachers will be providing face painting and our enrichment program: School of Rock will host activities. Food will also be available for purchase. Once again, please be on the lookout for additional information to go home regarding this event. You can also see Ms. Irene at the front desk in the morning if you have questions.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children each and every day! Happy New Year to you and yours.
Sincerely,
Christina Meece, MS.E
Principal
