December is upon us. Another year is leaving and 2018 is right around the corner! This is the month that is full of hustle and bustle. Many of us are rushing off to holiday parties, doing shopping, decorating our homes, and enjoying holiday celebrations.
If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody. -Chinese Proverb
This is a wonderful time for us to help our children learn the value of giving to others. Giving can be very challenging for a young child. Helping children to learn they can make a difference is a gift to that child. Teaching children to care about others is what makes our world a better place. When children give, they are being empowered to make a difference! They will see that they can help others.
A simple way to model giving is through our Mitten Tree. We will be collecting hats, scarves, gloves, mittens, and pajamas. There will be a tree set up in the lobby for us to decorate with warmth and love.
Have a happy and safe December!
