Dear Parents,
October was a fun and busy month! All classrooms created fun seasonal projects, carved and decorated pumpkins, learned about fire safety and enjoyed our school Halloween parade. Thank you very much for being so generous, your enthusiastic participation in our seasonal events is very much appreciated.
The next seasonal school event will be our “Thanksgiving Feast” & “Canned Good Turkey Parade” on Friday, November 17th. We sure have a lot to be thankful for this year, so along with planning for a bountiful feast, the children will learn the meaning of giving through theme related activities, which includes a “Canned Food Drive.” This year we are partnering with the Palm Beach County Food Bank to help those less fortunate in the community. Beginning Monday, November 6th you will see a drop-off box for non-perishable food items. Donations will be loaded on to the food bank bus Tuesday, November 22nd with the help of our awesome elementary campers, who understand what it means to pay it forward.
Our teachers are enthusiastic about developing lifelong learners. They genuinely care about children and have the sensitivity and knowledge to understand a child’s individual developmental needs and learning styles. They take the time to help each child discover, in his or her way, a fascinating world of learning and play.
We help our teachers keep current with the latest techniques by sponsoring professional development where internal and external trainers and consultants lead our workshops. Each staff member is required by the state of Florida to accomplish ten or more hours of training each year. Chesterbrook Academy closes its doors twice a year for professional development. We chose Veteran’s Day, 11/10 and President’s Day 2/19 as our training days because public schools, banks, and government offices close; therefore closing the school would negatively affect fewer families. We look forward to sharing learning experiences with other dedicated Chesterbrook Academy teachers in Florida and appreciate your support as we empower our teachers to meet the needs of your children.
