Message from the Principal
Happy Autumn! I believe in my last newsletter I said I was looking forward to cooler weather…in case anyone was wondering, I’m still waiting…it has definitely been a hot start to fall. I would like to say congrats to everyone! We have made it through the first month of school! This is quite an accomplishment for many of us. Especially the children, whom many are starting a new school, a new classroom, a new schedule, some of you have even moved recently! So much going on and yet through it all they stay strong. Give all your little ones an extra hug from the staff here, we are super proud of them!
All students attending must have a completed Universal Child Health Record. This needs to be updated annually by your child’s physician and a copy of their shot records must be attached. Please note that it is also an annual requirement that children ages 6 months through 59 months receive a flu shot. Once your child receives this shot, please bring in written documentation that your child has received the shot. We will have a visit from the state health department around the start of winter to ensure that all of our children are in compliance with these requirements.
Please make sure that you (or anyone who is authorized to drop off/pick up your child) are using the iPad at the front desk to do so. Everyone should have their own PIN. This needs to be completed in the morning BEFORE taking your child to their classroom and in the evening AFTER picking your child up before exiting the school. Some are starting to slip away from doing this on a daily basis and it is affecting the delivery of the students daily reports. If you are having any issues with your PIN not working, please come see me or Miss Sue.
Picture Day is set for Tuesday, October 17th. We will have 2 photographers here and we will be photographing all children that day. If your child does not attend on a Tuesday you are still welcome to bring them in to get their photograph taken. For those of you new to the school, preschool photos are taken first, developed and then sent to us to distribute. You will then have a 2 week period to decide whether or not you would like to purchase the photos. If not, you return all photos. If so, you return payment and keep the photos that you like. This gives you the opportunity to view the photos before purchasing.
We have a lot going on this month, so be sure to check out the Important Dates below. You can obtain hard copies of the calendars at the front desk or click below to access them electronically.
