Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,
What a great start to our 2017-2018 school year we’ve had! Our students have adjusted well to their new classroom and have made our new friends feel right at home. September is a very busy month for us. Below are a few events that we would like to highlight.
Teacher of the Month: Mrs. Ayesha is always present with a smile and demonstrates patience, love, and care for each child she interacts with daily. For one of her nominations a family shared that Mrs. Ayesha “demonstrates exceptional control of the classroom and has the outstanding ability to keep a safe and fun environment. She worked tirelessly (starting in Beginner B) to ensure our son was officially potty-trained and we are incredibly grateful. My son always found contentment with Ayesha’s presence.” Congratulations Mrs. Ayesha!
Spirit Week : To celebrate the beginning of our year we have provided opportunities for our students and staff to show a little school spirit. Our daily themes are as follows:
- Tuesday – Neon Day
- Wednesday – Wacky Wednesday
- Thursday – Crazy Hair Day
- Friday – Mismatch Sock Day
Back to School Night: Back to School Night will be held on Thursday, September 7th from 6:30-7:30pm. This will be a great time to hear what your child(ren)’s teachers will be expecting, new curriculum and their needs from you and your child(ren).
Ancillary Programs: Our ancillary programs this fall are: Joy of Dance, Soccer Shots, and Stretch-n-Grow. Classes begin the week of September 11th. Sign-up at the front desk
Grandparent’s Day: It’s time to celebrate our Grandparents; they definitely deserve it! Join us at 3:00pm for an afternoon of story-time and snack.
Parent’s Night Out: Friday, September 15th from 6:30-9:00pm will be our first PNO. Students will participate in an evening of messy games and crafts. Dinner will be served and all students will be changed into their pajamas. Cost is $10 for your first child, $5 for siblings. A sign-up sheet is posted on the front desk.
National Keep Kids Creative Week: This holiday was created in 2003 by Bruce Van Patter in order to encourage children to grab hold of their innate creativity and never let go! During the week of September 25th students will be participating in activities that will allow them to “think outside the box”.
- Monday – Creative Outside Play
- Tuesday – Creative Snack Day
- Wednesday – Creative Game Day
- Thursday – Creative Sun Catcher Day
- Friday – Creative Rock Painting Day
