Dear Chesterbrook Academy Families,
It’s hard to believe that there are only four weeks left of summer. Our students have had a blast during these past six weeks making life long friendships and enjoying fun summer camp activities. While we enjoy these hot days of summer, this would be a great time to check/replenish your child’s sunscreen, bug spray, and appropriate summer clothing.
Congratulations to our Teacher of the Month, Ms. Ari! Although very quiet, Ms. Ari is a great example of a passionate educator. One of her nomination cards stated “Ms. Ari is an exceptional teacher. She’s willing to go the extra mile. She is very aware of the needs of each of her students and does an excellent job of communicating with the parents. On top of that the kids just love her”. Remember, if you would like to nominate your child’s teacher, or any other staff member, please write your nominations and place them in the yellow box on the front desk before the end of each month.
National Chef Appreciation Week: August 21st – 25th we will be celebrating our Kitchen Manager, Ms. Brenda. Throughout the week our students and staff will be surprising her with an abundance of appreciation for the work she does. On Friday, August 25th we will be providing Ms. Brenda with thank you cards from the students. If you would like to write a card for Ms. Brenda you may pick up a blank note card from the font office.
It is almost time for transitions! To help establish great relationships and experiences in their new rooms and accommodate the number of transitions, students will spend the last two weeks of camp transitioning to their new class. Be on the lookout for your transition letters – which will detail your class/teacher assignments for the coming year (if transitioning). Please mark your calendar for our Back to School Night which will be held on September 7th. This evening will be an informative one for all of our families and students – we want to provide you with LOTS of information on class logistics, and give you the opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers.
The first day of our academic year is Monday, August 28th. On this day all students in our Intermediates through PreK2 classrooms are required to wear uniforms. We will continue to have spirit days throughout the year to provide students the opportunity to chose their attire for the day. If you would like to purchase Chesterbrook Logo items please visit http://woodbridgecb819qbstores.com/. All items will be shipped directly to the school under the parent/child’s name.

Does this scenario sound familiar? You drive your smiling child to school, walk him to his classroom, say goodbye and hand him off to his teacher. When you’re ready to leave, he begins crying, clings to your leg and begs you not to go. Separation anxiety is a completely normal[.....]
