“Agents of Summer” on a Pirate Ship
Back to School
Oh my! Where has the summer gone?
At Chesterbrook Academy we are winding down our summer program and preparing for the start of the 2017/18 school year. The start of the school year is August 14th.
Summer has rocked here with the elementary camp’s “Secret Agents” of summer, who have enjoyed participating in many activities throughout the counties. They have been on a pirate ship,to the movies and theater, the Chocolate Pizza Factory, collected needed items for the animal shelter, swimming at the beach and local pools, and participated in the Arc Program of Palm Beach, reading stories and assisting exceptional children with art.
In addition to learning the preschool campers had special days of water activities, school beach party days, performed for parents at our summer theater, ate watermelon and consumed many ice pops.
As we move into the school year, there will be many more up and coming events. Please make certain you have updated addresses and personal information so we can reach you.
On August 5th from 10-11:30pm our VPK parents are invited to OPEN HOUSE to meet the teachers, visit the classrooms and experience what is like for your child to be in VPK. You will learn about the rules and regulations of the VPK program and have an introduction to what we teach in VPK. Please, join us.
Open House for New Students also takes place on August 5th, from 10-1pm. Please stop by to tour our school, learn about the curriculum and meet some of the staff.
Mark your calendars for August 11th. The school will be closed. It is a Teacher Workday.
As we say, “Bye Bye” to summer we also say bye to our children who are leaving for Kindergarten. We will miss you but we know from our camp enrollment that you will be back next summer to share memories with friends.
We also say “Bye Bye” to our families from Italy and Spain that have joined us this summer as well as students from private schools that return for summer and camp days.
Thank you everyone for the memories; our doors will always be open when you return.
We are looking forward to a great school year and can’t wait to meet many of our new students and families.
Thank you, as always, for your support.
Ms. Jennifer, Principal

Does this scenario sound familiar? You drive your smiling child to school, walk him to his classroom, say goodbye and hand him off to his teacher. When you’re ready to leave, he begins crying, clings to your leg and begs you not to go. Separation anxiety is a completely normal[.....]
