Dear Chesterbrook Families:
Summer has arrived and we are keeping things cool with camp activities from visiting our local parks to going on a nature scavenger hunt, and experimenting with the Weird Science Wednesdays! Check out our Summer Camp Calendar for upcoming events and happenings.
With warmer days upon us, we will be spending more time outdoors. Please be sure to dress your child accordingly. It is also a good idea to check your child’s cubby to make sure their extra change of clothing is weather appropriate, and if any replenishments are needed.
For safety reasons, children must wear closed-toe shoes. You are welcome to send in water shoes for your child to wear during water play activities. In addition, we are asking parents to send in sunscreen with a signed form for us to apply as needed. Parents are requested to apply the first sunscreen application prior to arrival. The teachers will then reapply later in the day as needed.
Please provide a labeled water bottle for your child to keep here throughout the week to help stay hydrated throughout the day. School Age Summer Campers attending field trips should wear their camp shirts and pack a peanut-free brown bag lunch, unless otherwise noted. We also need to have signed parental permission for our trips. If you have any questions, please see your child’s teachers.
As a reminder, please check your child’s mailbox/folder for important information and forms being sent home. Recently, families continuing with us through the summer should have received the 2017-2018 Parent Handbook via email. The Parent Acknowledgement Form was also sent home to sign and return to the front office. We encourage you to take a few minutes to look over the information, complete the forms, and return them to the front desk. Be sure to review page 3 of the Parent Handbook for important updates. (Note: Our next teacher in-service day will be Election Day, Tuesday, November 7th, 2017.)
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our next Open House and “Welcome Back Social” on Saturday, August 5th from 10am-1pm. We plan to host Meet & Greet from 10am-11am for new families and students as well as returning students and families for the upcoming school year. Stay tuned for further details to come!
I would like to welcome our new families to the Chesterbrook family! Please join me in giving a warm welcome to some new faces around our school.
Thank you all for your continued support of our school community!

While traveling with your preschooler, you’ve probably heard him say, “Are we there yet?” or “How much longer?” more times than you can count. Being stuck in the car or on a flight might not seem like the most stimulating activity, but it is possible to engage your child’s mind and[.....]
