May News!
Happy Mother’s Day! To all of the wonderful mother’s in our school and who are an inspiration to our students and staff. The month of May brings forth more celebrations to those who are important in our school community. This week (May 1-5) we are enjoying Teacher Appreciation Week. As I look around the school and those who work within our school it is with great pride that I see how much each individual devotes their energy, time and passion for children into each classroom. We were recently visited by the two representatives from the Education Department of Nobel Learning Communities, Inc. as well as the Vice President of East Coast Operations for Nobel Learning Communities, Inc. The positive accolades that were put forth from these upper management representatives were a great inspiration for all. It was shared with us that our school exemplifies and goes above and beyond the expectations of our LTL curriculum as well as what great looks like for our company standards. The Oohs, Ahhs, and WOW’s, we have received from our visitors was a great moral booster for each individual, including the children who were very proud to showcase and broadcast what they were learning and participating in within each classroom.
Not only did we receive and appreciate the accolades and positive feedback from our corporate office with great thankfulness, we received a great amount of feedback from you, our parents with the Parent Survey. The participation in the survey has grown, as well as the amount of positive feedback. While we understand that the past year has been a year full of additions, changes and enhancements that caused a bit of apprehension, overall the changes that were put in place were positively accepted and appreciated. Some of the accolades that were shared in what our parents like best about our school are: low teacher turnover rate, kindness of everyone and the fact that if there are issues or concerns they are addressed immediately, our outdoor areas, the teachers, the children are happy each day, safety of the children, and the fact that the staff genuinely cares about each individual child.
With each year due to regulations, policies, procedures and growth there comes change within a school. This past year we had another Chesterbrook Academy merge with us, which grew our family. We added the Links to Home app as a communication tool, and we included more family events. Please understand with each of these changes and additions we heard your feedback as to ways we could have improved and we are still looking for ways to improve or enhance these additions. Some of the areas of concern that we are addressing are better communication when children transition to a new classroom, more pictures and classroom communications sent through the Links to Home App, a larger facility for the Holiday Program, a refresher of the outdated look of the buildings overall and a “quicker” sign in/out option. These are all excellent and valuable feedback comments that we truly appreciate. I do know that in the next few months the Links to Home App will be the new process that you as a parent will utilize each day to sign your child in and out of the building. Right, now our IT department is working on a method as to how we can link it to the front doors that are magnetized so we can keep our locked security system. Our company is also in the process of doing makeovers of several of the interiors of our schools. Due to the fact that we are a dual site location special consideration is taking place behind the scenes as to how to bring that look and feel to our buildings. I will keep up updated on these improvements as best as I can when I learn more. They are all very exciting!
Each day I come to school, I am eager to see what awaits me and what I will learn from the children. I am grateful for the dedication and devotion that you have towards our school community. I am truly grateful to be a part of such a successful school. As a token of our appreciation to you as a parent we will be hosting our annual Parent Appreciation May 8-12th. We hope you enjoy the special daily events we have planned for you!
During the week of May 14th – May 22nd – I will be away on vacation. Please feel free to contact another member of the management team if you have any questions or concerns in my absence.
Have a great month of May!
