The Snow Day is here and now it’s time to have some fun. Below I have listed Snow Day activities for you all. Hopefully it will help beat any cabin fever and use up some of their energy!
* Bring snow indoors in a roasting pan. Give your child measuring spoons and serving spoons to mold and shape snow people or creation. Add twigs, chocolate chips and other edible items to decorate their creation. Great for all ages, and especially for those younger children that may not be able to stay outside for longer periods of time.
* Pull out some old home movies- you know, of the kids when they were so young they don’t recognize themselves. Or go through your old photos and experience a blast from the past.
* Have an island day- pull out some fun island related books or movies, play Hawaiian music, enjoy a tropical snack and think “sunny” thoughts.
* Make FRESH snow cones (a tropical treat)- just add your favorite juice to some snow and enjoy.
* Make snow ice cream:
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
4 cups of fresh snow
Mix first three ingredients until sugar begins to dissolve then add the snow and mix until creamy consistency. You can add less or more sugar to suit your taste. Coconut milk makes great snow ice cream. If you want a creamer ice cream use table or whipping cream.
* Blow bubbles outside. Catch them on the wand. They will freeze and then turn into a cool crystal ball before it shatters.
* Form a pots and pans band…very loud but FUN!
* Plan an indoor picnic for lunch. Set up a blanket on the floor and think of the fun to come this spring.
* Indoor Bowling: Take empty plastic soda/water bottles and place them in a row down a hallway. If the bottles is too easy to knock over, partially fill it with water to weigh it down. Knock over with any ball found in the home.
* Water color the snow. Fill bottles with different water colored with food coloring, take outside to paint the snow with them.
Have a great day and I hope you enjoy today. Whether it’s filled with activities or you spend it snuggled up on the couch watching movies and reading with your loved ones.
Warm Regards,
