Happy New Year!
I hope the new year is off to a great start for all of our families. Winter has arrived and although we are faring well, as a reminder, we broadcast our school delay and closing information on channel 6 ABC. Parents are able to sign-up for text messaging and email alerts through www.6ABC.com when our school reports a delay or closing. We will also do our best to send out an e-notify to all of our families, and add a message to our school website homepage, if we have power and technology capabilities. In the event of an Early Dismissal during our hours of operation, we will utilize these resources in addition to contacting parents of children in our care at that time.
Between January 3rd and January 6th, you will receive an email containing a link to our online school survey. Our home office is requesting five minutes of your time to complete a brief survey about your experience at our school. The information you provide will help us make our school better for our families. Please be assured that all your answers will remain anonymous. To ensure that you receive the survey in a timely manner, please add schoolsurvey@mghus.com to your email address book. Doing so will greatly improve deliver-ability.
Later this month we will be conducting Kindergarten Priority Registration exclusively for our internal families on Thursday, January 19th from 3:30-6:00pm. In addition, we will be hosting an Open House and Kindergarten Parent Workshop/Priority Registration for parents of children who will become Kindergarten-age eligible for the upcoming school years. The Parent Workshop will take place on Saturday, January 21st from 10:30am-11:30pm. Please RSVP to Ashton, Pam or Heather, and feel free to extend an invitation to interested families who may be looking for a Kindergarten or a preschool program. And, stay tuned for Early Bird Registration in the weeks ahead for all families continuing with us for the 2017-2018 School Year!
In February and May, parents of students enrolled in our PreK and PreK 2 programs will receive a detailed progress report of their child’s skill development in the form of our Links to Learning Parent Report. Accompanying the June Parent Report will also be the PLG document. (Personal Learning Goals) The PLG will provide you with what we see as the next steps in your child’s academic journey and can act as a guide to help you select the most appropriate kindergarten program for your child. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me or your child’s teacher. We are excited to continue to work closely with you as we customize and enhance your child’s Pre-K experience at our school.
As our annual licensing inspection approaches, we will be circling around with families for any outstanding paperwork that may need to be updated. Please check your child’s mailbox daily for communications and paperwork being sent home. It is imperative that we maintain our records to ensure we not only meet but exceed the state requirements. Thank you to all of our families for their cooperation!
Please be sure to mark your calendars now, for our next Teacher Inservice Day on President’s Day, Monday, February 20th.
Best Wishes for the New Year ahead!
