The month of October came and passed very quickly. It was a month that marked the first anniversary of me being the Principal here at Chesterbrook Academy in Limerick. During October I also celebrated my 20th year with Nobel Learning Communities, Inc. and traveled to Las Vegas for my 12th Principal Conference. Looking back and reflecting over the past years and months I truly am entering the month of November very thankful.
One of my most thankful attributes goes to you – the parents and staff here at Chesterbrook Academy. Those who have children or who have worked as a part of this school for more than the past year have seen some changes and a lot of growth with my transfer. I know change is difficult and I think each of you accepted or dealt with the changes in your own way, but remained strong and dedicated to our facility. The newer families who have merged with us from Royersford – the facility is a lot different and I think from what I hear from most of you is
that the adjustment was tough – but it’s easier and better now. If I would be able to go back and manage one thing differently in the past year it would be the essence of not having so many changes be made in a short period of time – however, much of that was out of my control and as a team we all succeeded and grew in our own ways. As a token of my appreciation we will be serving Donuts and Coffee in the Lobby of each building for the parents and staff on Thursday November 10th, 2016.
Thank you for everyone that came out to participate in and spectate the Fall Costume parade and our First Annual Trunk or Treat Event. The children all had a wonderful time showing off their costumes, collecting treats and having parties in their classrooms with their friends. We have heard several great things about the hoagie sale and we are so glad that many of you appreciated the fact that it made your dinner easier on such a busy and fun evening.
Thank you for all who attended the Friendly’s Family Night. It was great to see so many children and families out enjoying dinner and a special sweet treat. Congratulations to the Geiger family who won the door prize (a backpack of school supplies)! With your support and the support of others who attended the event we raised $273.00.
Thank you for all who are participating in the fundraisers. We are aware that there are a lot of them being shared wit
h you. Please understand that these fundraisers are provided to us by our corporate office. We do not expect you to participate in every single one we offer, but we want to make sure that we provide the opportunity for you to participate in the one’s that are most appealing to you. Every little bit helps our school grow and earn funds to purchase new learning materials and provide extra fun activities for our family events. The past month’s fundraising will be supporting our Fall Festival on Saturday November 5th.
The fall festival will prove to be lots of fun for all who attend. We will be doing activities in each classroom, our Kindergarten and Kindergarten Enrichment students will be signing a few songs for us, we will have the Pumpkin Chunkin’ contest, a show by Mad Science and a light lunch for sale. We will be sending out an itinerary of events and time schedule in the next few days. We hope to see you there!
Don’t forget to complete the survey that you will be receiving in your e-mail regarding the days you will need care over the Thanksgiving Week. We are trying to accommodate the vacation requests of our staff members to allow them to spend time with their family. Don’t forget we are open every day except – Thursday November 24, 2016. On Friday November 26, 2015 we will be having a modified schedule – our hours of operation will be from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Have a great month of November and safe travels.

With cooler weather and Thanksgiving right around the corner, many of us will be spending more time in the kitchen. Use this time to invite your child to join you in the meal-making experience. As he is exposed to new foods and food preparation, he will begin to feel more[.....]
