Dear Parents,
Happy Fall Y’all! Can you believe it’s been almost two months since the beginning of the school year? What a pleasure it is to see and hear happy children and teachers engaged in a variety of learning experiences, singing, storytelling, helper assignments, teacher directed learning centers, art, and sensory exploration, just to name a few. As early childhood educators, it is very rewarding to provide an environment that allows children the freedom to discover and learn in a supportive and nurturing way. We appreciate that you have chosen us and thank you for your ongoing support and trust! When parents and teachers work as partners, the learning experience becomes richer and more meaningful to the child.
October is one of the busiest months of the school year and also kicks-off the holiday season here at Chesterbrook Academy. Our most popular school event is “Trunk or Treat.” Families and friends are welcome to join us for an evening of safe trick or treating, food, cotton candy, face painting, Kona Ice and a DJ for some Halloween dancing with the kids! Check out, or school lobby display for details.
Please be sure to review monthly activities and events posted on this page as well as postings in our front lobby, vestibule, and classroom doors.
Throughout the year we host a variety of national fundraisers. These fundraisers were chosen to offer quality products and services to our families while benefiting our school program. Although we appreciate your enthusiastic participation, please do not feel obligated.
Documenting your child’s growth and development is an ongoing process for Chesterbrook Academy teachers. A portfolio was created for each student the beginning of the school year. Teachers use them to collect assessments, observations, student work, pictures, etc. of your child’s work throughout the school year. Parent reports with detailed information will be sent home no later than Friday, November 18th.
PRE-K/VPK PARENTS: Teachers have completed Period 1 student assessments. You should have already received your report. These quarterly reports will help you stay connected with your child’s progress. VPK assessments are designed to provide teachers with valid and reliable feedback regarding student progress in attaining VPK educational standards. Teachers use this information to help drive instructional decisions to meet each child’s need. If you would like to review your child’s assessment with the teacher, feel free to schedule a time to meet with her.
Best Regards,

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH AT 10:00am
Our brave PSL firefighters visit Chesterbrook Academy!
Students will learn about the importance of fire safety and have an opportunity to explore a real fire truck and fire equipment. Fire safety homework will be sent home with each child, making it a great time to engage in a family discussion about fire safety at home.
A Powerful Connection to a Lifetime of Learning
Your children experience the perfect balance of learning and play in a safe, nurturing environment. Our Links to Learning (LTL) curriculum prepares them for kindergarten by introducing concepts in reading, math, art, music and much more. You will receive progress updates, as well as ideas to continue learning at home.
You can expect to receive daily communication and pictures via email through our Links 2 Home program. And, we also encourage you to take a few moments each week to review your child’s classroom Links to Learning “Parent Board”, so you can “Link” to your child’s early education experiences. Posted are “Weekly Skills”, “Lesson Plan”, “Daily Schedule”, “Monthly Spanish” and “Learning Outcomes”.
PARENT REQUIREMENT:
Signing your child in and out daily is not only a licensing and company policy but, an added security measure, which ensures all children are accounted for while in our care. PLEASE, BE DILIGENT ABOUT RECORDING YOUR CHILD’S ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES. Thank you!
SICK POLICY:
The purpose of our sick policy is to reduce the spread of illness among our students and to encourage full recuperation of sick children before they return to school. We depend on parents to assist us in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our children.
Children may be sent home if they have any concerning symptoms. Also, a child must be free of all of these symptoms for at least 24 hours before he/she can return to school. These symptoms include:
- A Fever of 100 degrees or more
- Vomiting within the previous 24-hour period
- Diarrhea within the previous 24-hour period
- Symptoms of a communicable disease
- Fussy, cranky behavior and not himself/ herself
Following an illness, a child may return to school once he/she has either been seen by a doctor or it has been determined that illness is not contagious. (A doctor’s clearance may be requested.) Please help us keep all of our children healthy by following these rules. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. Thank you for your support!

Tuition is due the 1st business day of every month. Accounts not paid in full by 12:00 pm the fifth business day of every month will automatically receive a late fee of $25. PARKING – As many of you have experienced, finding a parking space between 8:45am & 9:15am is challenging. Assigning a parking attendant is not possible, so we are asking families to please be considerate during drop-off and pick-up times by not parking in an area that is not a designated parking space. There is a field on the north side of the building that we have permission to use for parking. You are welcome to park there during drop-off and pick-up times. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF THE DUMPSTER.
Thank you!
