From the Principal’s Office:
Welcome to summer fun at Chesterbrook Academy! Our older students have already enjoyed field trips to Brookfield Zoo, Blackberry Farms, and Phillips Park Zoo. All our students have enjoyed visits from Tammy Town to learn about safety and our ever popular pony rides. All our students have also enjoyed spending one morning a week splashing through the sprinklers, playing silly relay games, and also doing outdoor art and science activities. We can’t wait for July when we will get to participate in more field trips and have more special visitors. I hope you and your family are enjoying your summer! We look forward to seeing all of our current, past, and future families at our Family Picnic on Friday, July 29th (see school spotlight for more information).
My Favorite Books about Summer Fun at the Beach
1. Hello ocean by Pam Munoz Ryan
2. At the beach by Anne & Harlow Rockwell
3. Beach house by Deanna Caswell
4. Beach by Elisha Cooper
5. Duck & Goose go to the beach by Tad Hill
Looking for a feel good book this summer read about the sea turtles journey in A chance for Esperanza by Pam Schiller & Alma Flor Ada.
Upon a Beach
Upon a beach
Three Small shells lay
And saw the water
Come out to play
But all the waves
Went back to sea
And took those shells
One, Two, and Three.
Wishing you and your family a warm and sunny July!

Getting Ready for Summer Time at Chesterbrook Academy
Sunscreen: The sun is shining bright and our preschoolers are spending more time outside. Please help us in protecting our students by filling out our sunscreen form and returning it with a bottle of sunscreen for your child. A hat is also suggested, please make sure to label with your child’s name. Sunscreen will be applied both AM and PM, fifteen minutes before going outside.
Protective Shoes: Please make sure your child has appropriate footwear for summer. Sandals with backs or clasps and sneakers/gym shoes are great. Please no flip flops at school!
Sprinkler Days: During our summer camp, we will have days where your child needs to wear their swimsuit to school. Please check the summer camp calendar and have your child wear their swimsuit under their clothes on their assigned sprinkler day. Sunscreen will be applied by teachers- please remember to bring underwear & a towel so your child can dry off and change.
Infant, Toddlers, and Beginners who wear diapers, you need to bring in Little Swimmers, so that they can participate in water fun also! All students who wear diapers need to be brought to school wearing regular diapers and the teachers will change students right before going outside to play in the sprinklers.

Please take a moment to review how traffic should flow in our parking lot: Traffic is to enter the parking lot on the Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School side and then follow all the way around the lot and park on the preschool side. Traffic should exit the parking lot on our preschool side. Please make sure to slow down near the cross walk so that you are able to watch for pedestrians crossing from one building to the next and to avoid any accidents or injuries. Heavy traffic times are from 8:30am to 8:45am and 3:35pm to 3:55pm; to avoid these heavy traffic times please arrive to the campus either before or after these arrival and dismissal times.
